What usually comes to mind when we think of the Golden Gate Carousel are the carved animals, but the decorative housing is equally impressive.
Carousel "Rounding Boards" are the outside curved pictorial panels that along with masks and other decorations hide the upper mechanical workings.
The Golden Gate Carousel has 18 rounding boards, 18 masks, and numerous decorations.
In addition, there are 36 elaborate inner pictorial panels which hide the center mechanics.
